The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme For 2026-2027
Abroad Portals Team
Brief Description
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme is Hungary’s flagship international scholarship, offering fully funded study opportunities for students from over 100 partner countries worldwide. Each year, the programme receives a very high number of applications globally — for example, more than 80,000 applicants applied in 2025 — and approximately 4,500 scholarships are awarded internationally across all levels of study.
For Bangladeshi students, the Government of Hungary has allocated a maximum of 140 seats for the 2026–27 academic year across Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral programmes. Among these, 30 scholarships are reserved specifically for Nuclear Energetics (Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral).
For Undergraduate and Master’s applicants, the minimum age must be 18 years by 31 August 2026 (birthdate on or before 31 August 2008), except for Dance Study Programmes.
Applications must be submitted to both the Hungarian TPF Application System and the Bangladesh Ministry of Education’s portal by 15 January 2026.
To be nominated by the sending partner, Bangladeshi applicants must also submit hard copies of the application (as filled out in the Ministry of Education’s portal) and all supporting documents to the Ministry (details provided below). Only one programme level (Undergraduate OR Master’s OR Doctoral) may be selected. English language proficiency is an important factor during the nomination process.
The Ministry of Education, Bangladesh requires all applicants to submit attested copies of all academic certificates (provisional certificates are not accepted). Students who have studied abroad must additionally submit their Equivalent Certificate.
Note for international readers:
Students who are citizens of countries other than Bangladesh must apply through their own Ministry of Education or relevant Sending Partner authority, as each country has its own quota and nomination rules within the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.
Host Institutions
30 Hungarian Higher Education Institutions participate in 2026/27.
~900 programmes taught mainly in English, also Hungarian, and some in German/French.
